Tradition & Innovation Event
The journey of parents and children in building a legacy
Yesterday (September 16), we hosted a special gathering at our São Paulo office with Cris Baumgart and Isabelle Randon, who fostered an open dialogue on continuity, succession, and the role of each generation in preserving and reinventing family history. The event was opened by Georgiana Rothier, Partner at Turim.
Cris Baumgart, from the 3rd generation of the Baumgart Group, is a certified board member by the IBGC and founder of Desenvolvendo Famílias Empresárias, focusing on governance and the longevity of family businesses.
Isabelle Randon, from the 3rd generation of the Randon Group, is co-founder of IR Family & Business, a consultancy dedicated to structured governance and succession planning for family enterprises.
Throughout the conversation, key points were addressed, such as:
-
The low survival rate of family businesses across generations;
-
The importance of structured governance in the three dimensions: family, ownership, and business;
-
The risks associated with the absence of clear succession criteria;
-
The need to prepare new generations, balancing individual development, collective purpose, and long-term vision.
Beyond structures or statistics, the dialogue highlighted that true legacy is born from awareness, dialogue, and preparation — essential elements to transform tradition into innovation and ensure the continuity of enterprising families.
