Pandemic reflexes
in the Wealth Planning of families
What are the effects of the pandemic on the wealth planning of families? With this in mind, Turim MFO promoted a webinar on the subject, which included the participation of Luiz Kignel, a lawyer specializing in Family and Succession Law and a partner at PLKC Advogados. During the online event, Kignel spoke about the process of drafting wills and the main questions regarding this document.
“Some people confuse planning with giving. Planning through a will is not a donation, it is a mechanism to better organize the wealth succession”, said the expert.
In the conversation, Kignel also highlighted that the will is a document that only becomes valid after the individual’s death.
“It has no legal value while the person is alive. In addition, the will can always be changed, according to changes in the wealth structure or the interests of those who are leaving the estate”, added Kignel.
The webinar was mediated by Eduardo Gomes de Almeida, Co-CEO of Turim, Luisa Saboia, Head of Legal and Compliance, and Isabela Faria, Head of Wealth Planning in Rio de Janeiro.
