A conversation with John Davis
Ensuring a Well-Functioning Board for the Family Business
In early June, we welcomed in our São Paulo office, Professor John Davis, responsible for the Family Business programs at the MIT Sloan School of Management.
He is recognized worldwide as a pioneer and specialist on the topics of Family Business, Family Wealth, Governance, Leadership and Family Succession.
The “Three Circles Model” was developed at the Harvard Business School in 1978, by then professors John Davis and Renato Tagiuri. Since then, this model has helped numerous business families to better understand the interdependent relationship and potential conflicts involving the Family, Business and Property. His academic work guides family businesses to prepare for the future and advises them on how to sustain their long-term success, including the fundamental transition of leadership across generations.
