Turim’s Insights
In our first Turim Insight webinar of the year, our team of experts overviewed 2020 and outlined what are the perspectives and challenges for 2021.
“Despite the complicated year, we ended 2020 very happy with Turim’s performance. Some challenges remain for this year and others change. The growing discussion now is whether there is a bubble in riskier assets; we have a zero or negative interest scenario; greater prospects for global growth; and China emerging as a great global power”, highlights Gustavo Marini, our founder and co-CEO.
If in 2020, Turim increased its exposure on international stocks, the main focus now is on emerging markets – especially in light of Democrat Joe Biden’s election and the US’s ‘blue wave’.
“Last year was extremely difficult, but we managed to get through our clients’ portfolio management well. In the first half, we carried out very important hedges to protect their wealth, and in the second half, we made good risk allocations”, assesses Leonardo Martins Moraes, partner and CIO at Turim MFO.
“Now, with a market based on sustaining prices through stimuli and low interest rates, the biggest risk we project today is the return of inflation”, he concludes.
